Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated 5 times yearly in English and in Spanish for children who have not reached the age of 7 years old.

Children seven years and older must join the children religious education program for their baptism preparation. See Religious Education for more details on schedules and registration.

Parents and godparents are asked to attend baptismal classes. Classes taken at another parish are accepted as fulfilling the requirement if they were taken in the past 2 years.

Guidelines for a godparent;
1. be a least 16 years of age
2. be a Catholic who has received the three sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation,
and Eucharist; and lives a life of faith which befits the role to be undertaken. An example
of not living the life of faith is being in an irregular marriage

3. be married in a valid Catholic church marriage.
4. not be the father or the mother of the one to be baptized.
